Three sources, three figures, and three pages to go until the end of the semester!
I do this! Well, perhaps not with 300 year old manuscripts, but I do digitize stuff. http://t.co/hlnXB8pv
On the private (though still nonprofit) library. One can do much for aesthetics when not catering to the entire public. http://t.co/5nYX4BO1
Some incredibly beautiful academic libraries around the world. One of them is in Chicago and I had no idea! http://t.co/nNdH1X2K
Why do I even do anything other than read wonderful books and eat delicious food? Something about earning money for shelter, probably.

It has recently come to my attention that this week marks the American Library Association’s 2011 National Library Week! So what does this mean other than a call for one to turn his or her thoughts…

Note: This blog looks a bit funny right now. I’m testing out CSS, but am unable to make those changes visible to the public. After I’m through with my experiments I’ll go back to something a bit…

Must remember to keep listening to new music. Just learned of Janelle Monáe, more specifically, the beginning of her song “Sincerely, Jane.”
Methinks replacing a side-view mirror oughtn’t be an annual event. Note to self: no more overnight parking on Fullerton.
Geeky project du jour: Putting to use the stockpile of old receipts by plugging them into a grocery price book.
Metra seems to think that people won’t have dressed for the weather and will appreciate being blasted with heat on the train. Incorrect.
No last-min cramming for me. I’ll go w/ the delicious croissant, relaxing stroll to campus and a bit of dark chocolate right before I start!
Taking the MAT today. It’s been a few years since my last standardized test, but at least this one is short and isn’t the GRE. Wish me luck!
Playing with my new toy!

Happy Tree Day! Such wonderful weather this morning, and tonight is one of my favorite meals followed by a beer and chocolate tasting.
Just realized that there’s a longer guard for my hair trimmer. Much longer. This is a good thing to remember for next time.
How is it that I’ve done so many complicated recipes over the years, but it’s taken me this long to make my own peanut butter? So easy!
Finally got new worms and restarted the worm bin today. Happy Earth Day!
A drive out to the country and back w/ a cup of coffee isn’t such a bad way to start my day after all. Now what to do w/ the rest of my day?
What’s up, sniffly nose? How about you, itchy eyes? Let’s be done with this if you don’t mind.
These are the most paranoid cats I’ve ever met. One just watches me from the window of another room; the other keeps forgetting who I am.
These are the days that I really wish I were driving a convertible. On my way to Michigan.

Tomorrow I head over to Dominican University to learn about the prospect of becoming a librarian!
Vegans are Misanthropes →
… Or at least it sometimes feels like that must be the case considering that the biggest pitfall to this vegan adventure has been the times we’ve had to maneuver through get-togethers in which food…
Long weekend in Muskegon!
Does anyone else get super excited when census time comes around? I guess I just love being counted.
Took over well over a year, but I’ve finally finished the layout for a children’s book!
New haircut… shall we call it “punk” or “avant-garde”?
Spending the day at the Family Farmed EXPO. Learned about using whole animals. Next up is urban farming, then preserving the bounty. #FFExpo
Tofu scramble is a totally satisfying alternative to scrambled eggs. I’m not sure how it took me this long to realize this invaluable info.
